Privacy Policy

SET is a free multiplayer card game run by Shreyas. In short: there are no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and the game sets no cookies. This page explains what is handled so you can decide whether you are comfortable playing.
What the game handles
- Your nickname (up to 20 characters). You type it, and everyone in your room can see it. Please do not use your real full name or other personal details.
- A random player ID and secret token created in your browser so you can get back to your seat if your connection drops. The server keeps the ID and only a SHA-256 hash of the token.
- Game activity: your score, which cards you pick, and when you press the buttons, which is needed to run the game.
- The room. Anyone who has a room's invite link can join it and see the nicknames and scores in it.
How long it is kept
Game data lives only in the server's memory. It is never written to a database. A room is removed automatically once nobody is in it, and every room disappears when the server restarts.
What is stored in your browser
- Session storage (cleared when you close the tab): your nickname, player ID, and token.
- Local storage (stays until you clear your browser data): whether sound is muted and your chosen card colors.
- Cookies: the game itself sets none.
Hosting and server logs
The site runs on a server at Google Cloud and is served through Cloudflare. When you load a page, these services receive technical request data such as your IP address, the page requested, your browser's user agent, and the time. This is used to deliver the site, keep it secure, and fix problems. Logs are kept only as long as the servers' default log rotation keeps them. Cloudflare may set its own security cookies and handles that data under its own privacy policy.
Sharing
I do not sell your data or share it for advertising. The only other people who see your nickname and score are the players in your room. The hosting providers above process request data on my behalf in order to run the site.
Children
SET is not directed at children under 13 and is not designed to collect their personal information. Nicknames should never include personal details.
Your choices and rights
You can leave a room at any time, close the tab to clear session storage, and clear your browser data to remove local settings. Because there are no accounts and game data is temporary, there is usually little for me to look up. If you are in the UK or EU you may have rights to access, correct, or erase personal data, to object to its use, and to complain to your data protection authority. To make a request, email [email protected].
